A team of researchers from the SofTMech Centre has been awarded a three-year British Heart Foundation project grant on “A modelling study of right ventricular function in repaired tetralogy of fallot for predicting outcome and impact of pulmonary valve replacement”.
Tetralogy of fallot (TOF) is a common congenital heart condition, occurring in approximately 1 in 3500 births that is repaired in infancy. In this project, new computational models will be developed based on patient scan data using cutting-edge mathematical and statistical approaches to derive parameters of heart function that will provide valuable insights into the cardiac condition for doctors and TOF patients. The research team consists of Dr Hao Gao, Prof. Mark Danton, Prof. Xiaoyu Luo, Prof. Nick Hill, Prof. Dirk Husmeier, Prof. Colin Berry, Dr. John Driesbach and Dr. Niki Walker, all are locally based in Glasgow.
