This day was designed to give patients an insight into Mathematical Research in Healthcare and how it might in the future improve their treatment.
Aims of the day
Mathematics is the best tool we have to us understand and control complex physiological interactions and abnormal conditions. SofTMech is a leading research centre developing a range of fundamental multiscale mathematical models and statistical inference techniques applicable to heart and cancer diseases. Major aims of SofTMech's mathematical research are to:
- aid and inform clinical practice so better treatments can be found;
- facilitate personalised medicine so each patient may be treated in the way that is best for them them.
