Professor Raymond Ogden receives the Timoshenko Medal

Professor Raymond Ogden receives the Timoshenko Medal for the creation of a new area of applied mechanics research.

The Timoshenko Medal was established in 1957 and is conferred in recognition of distinguished contributions to the field of applied mechanics. Instituted by the Applied Mechanics Division, it honors Stephen P. Timoshenko, world-renowned authority in the field, and it commemorates his contributions as author and teacher. 

Professor Raymond Ogden, Scientific Director of SofTMech, receives the Timoshenko Medal for the creation of a new area of applied mechanics research. He has stimulated the work of a large number of practitioners in the field of the modeling in biomechanics. Professor Ogden’s innovations in the modeling of soft biological tissues are of long lasting medical, epidemiological, economic and scientific importance.
