We look back to one of earliest Soft Tissue workshops in 2017 opened by Xiaoyu. Since then workshops have been held in Glasgow in  2019 and 2023, St Andrews in 2021 and Politecnico di Milano in 2025. 

Xiaoyu was passionate about these workshops ensuring that we invited speakers who were at the top of their field carefully selected to inspire the next generation.

Xiaoyu was not only brilliant but kind, humble and funny.  She listened to everyone's ideas and her enthusiasm and her drive facilitated collaboration between her  fellow Academics, Clinicians and Industrial colleagues. As a supervisor to both Post Docs and PhD students Xiaoyu's  support enabled each of them to fulfil their potential and another part of her vast legacy will be their research journeys.
