SofTMech

A number of the SofTMech group head to Vienna in September 2023. First Sathish Kumar a PhD Student jointly funded by SofTMech and Terumo Aortic is going the Summer School at Graz University of Technology from the 11th to 15th September. The Summer school is organised by Gerhard Holzapfel and Ray Ogden.  Then Jakub Kory, one of SofTMech's Research Associates is presenting his work at the International Conference on Computational Bioengineering (ICCB) from the 19th to 22nd September where he is joined by SofTMech CI Raimondo Penta.  Jakub will give a talk on "Multiscale framework for estimating elastic response of cytoskeleton during intracellular transport"as part of the mini-symposium titled "Collective mechanics of cellular scale processes".  PhD student Alejandro Roque-Piedra, runner up in the PhD poster competition at the recent soft tissue workshop is also presenting at the conference.  The title of his talk is "An asymptotic homogenisation approach for nonlinear viscoelastic composites".  This talk is part of the mini-symposium titled "Multi-scale modelling of biomechanical systems and their simulation using neural networks".  This symposium is chaired by SofTMech CI, Raimondo Penta who is also making the trip to Vienna.
